A Sciaky ROBOT TIG WELDING CELL
A Sciaky twin station cell, tig welding several hundred steel laminates to produce electrical stators, up to half a tonne in weight. The laminates are hydraulically clamped, and as the tool indexes, eight 500mm welds are laid down. The cell incorporates a Comau robot, Migatronic tig welding unit, Omron touch screen & PLC, with Sciaky cell, tooling, and electrical control. With two stations the robot is 100% utilized and has cut the build time in half, compared to the previous manual mig operations. The welding is also much more reliable, and cuts out the need for expensive reinforcement bars.
